Butley Mill, Butley

An extensive and sympathetic conversion of an old water mill to provide five high specification holiday apartments. Little of the external envelope was altered, ensuring that the building’s original form and character was preserved wherever possible.

Many of the original features such as the mill wheel were painstakingly restored and used as features within the new conversion. The original windows were also retained and fully refurbished.

The two lucum style features were reinstated are based on the original lucum that had previously been removed from the building. The use of a traditional palette of materials has also helped to maintain the original character of the building.
